Board of Directors​

Thomas Pechar President - Current business owner and past Managing Director of several theater companies including the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Center Stage in Baltimore, Seattle Children’s Theatre in Seattle, and the Geva Theatre Center in New York. Thomas serves as President of Alchemical, where his experience is invaluable in guiding initiatives, defining and refining budgets, fundraising, negotiating with Actors Equity, and leadership of the Board. 


Fidias Reyes - Secretary - Artist Services and Residency Manager for the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Office of the Arts. Fidias is a talented manager and administrative assistant with a proven success record in managing business operations and improving services and programming.  Her experience in her current position includes handling all logistics for UNCW Presents artists, as well as the management of workshops, residencies, and lectures that are offered at the university and the community at large.  


Amy Keith Treasurer - Program Coordinator, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of North Carolina Wilmington. Amy has worked for 9 years at UNCW, organizing non-credit, enriching educational opportunities for a membership of over 1500 older adults in the Cape Fear region. Her responsibilities include coordinating academic classes, regional and international travel, round-table discussion and study groups, and two satellite-delivered performing arts programs (Met Opera and National Theatre). 


Adrian Varnam - Community Advisor - North Carolina native Adrian Varnam began studying violin at the age of 5, and has played for over 30 years, performing with such orchestras as the NC All-State Orchestra, the NC Honors Orchestra, the NC Governor’s School, and the Wilmington Symphony. In addition to orchestras, Adrian has performed and toured with various groups and rock bands up and down the East Coast. He’s also a sought-after musician and multi-instrumentalist in local theater, having performed on the stages of City Stage and historic Thalian Hall for companies such as Opera House Theater Company, City Stage, Theatre Now, Dram Tree Shakespeare, and the Thalian Association. Most recently, Adrian won the 2016 Star News Theater Award for “Best Sound Design” for his original score and performance for the Dram Tree Shakespeare production of Macbeth.


Christopher MarinoProducing Artistic Director- Formerly on faculty at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, teaching master acting classes, Christopher has taught at numerous universities and theatres in the US and England including the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Baltimore Shakespeare Festival, Stella Adler in New York City, George Washington University, University of Maryland - Baltimore County, and Illinois State University. He has been a guest lecturer at Rose Bruford Drama School in the UK teaching classical acting technique for the past six years. As an actor, he has a career that spans twenty years working regionally and at Shakespeare festivals. Christopher is also a founding member of the Helen Hayes award-winning Taffety Punk Theatre Company in Washington DC. He is the former Artistic Director of the Baltimore Shakespeare Festival and the current Assistant Artistic Director at Piccolo Theatre. Christopher is a Certified Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework. He holds two graduate degrees from the Shakespeare Theatre DC/George Washington University and Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art - London.  He has a Bachelors in Drama/Dance from Bard College.


Jan Radcliff - Programming Committee Chair - Jan began as an talent agent in Phoenix, Arizona, and then moved to the other side of the desk working in industrial films, commercials and voice-overs.  Now a long-time member of SAG, AFTRA, and EQUITY, she has appeared onstage as well as in feature films and on television. A founding member of Heartlande Theatre Company in Detroit, she gained extensive production experience organizing and participating in the summer workshops led by legendary actor and teacher, Uta Hagen, and producing Play-by-Play, a 12 hour marathon of original short plays, which served as an annual fundraiser for the theatre. After working for two years as an actor in Chicago, she moved to North Carolina in 2014, and now brings her theatrical understanding and organizational skills to Alchemical as a board member.
